Getting ready for your next tattoo!
A few things to keep in mind before your appointment.
The days before
Take care of your skin before your tattoo session.
Stay well-hydrated by drinking plenty of water. It helps your skin stay healthy, which makes the tattoo process smoother and promotes better healing.
Apply a light, fragrance-free moisturizer regularly to keep your skin soft and ready.
Avoid exfoliating your skin for at least a week before your session — let it rest.
Be mindful with sun exposure. Tanned or sunburned skin can complicate the session and might even lead to rescheduling. If the area shows up irritated, we may need to postpone.
If you're considering numbing cream, please let me know ahead of time. I don't usually recommend it, as it can affect the process, so we'll need to talk it through first.
The day of your appointment
Wear loose, comfortable clothes that give easy access to the area you're getting tattooed. Avoid anything that might rub against it.
If you’d like, you can bring something you love wearing (a favorite shirt or accessory) for a brief photo session at the end.
Keep the rest of your day light. It’s better not to have other commitments after your appointment, so we can take our time without rushing. This will allow me to work at ease and provide you with the best possible result.
Avoid alcohol or drugs before the session. If you arrive under the influence, I won’t be able to proceed. It affects the tattooing process and your body’s response, so your appointment will be cancelled.
If something’s come up — sunburn, rash, a skin flare-up in the area — please let me know as soon as possible. Sometimes it’s safer to reschedule than to risk healing problems later on.
